I knew this place was worth trying when I saw the vintage neon sign!
We got there just as they were closing but they still took our order, great burgers, fries, and real ice cream shakes!
Will be back next time we are in the area! -

This is a nice small local burger spot in Tehachapi. I had to come up here to do some work on a property and needed a quick lunch spot. I did not want to go to a run of the mill fast food joint and wanted to support a local business. After a quick Yelp search (of course) I found the Burger Spot.
I decided on the Pastrami Burger Combo, comes with fries and a drink (I subbed onion rings for the fries). Although after the fact I noticed they had Ostrich burgers and wish I would have tried one just to see what it tasted like.
They give you a lot of food here and the burger is a good size. My pastrami burger was very good, a lot of flavor with lettuce, tomato, pickles and onions. Very good choice. The onion rings were very tasty, although a little over done, but not too bad, still really good. They also have free refills and serve Pepsi products, the ice they have is slush ice, my favorite kind of ice in a soda, so bonus.
If you are up in the area, check out the Burger Spot, you can also walk around the little downtown area that has some cool shops and a rail station, classic small town America vibe, I love it.
Enjoy! -

One of my favorite little stops. A classic little burger joint. Delicious fried comfort food! They even have an ostrich burger! If your looking for a local little hometown feel stop in here for a bite. Everything cooked when ordered.. nothing under heat lamps... zucchini and fries are my fav!! This is an n older place so not the most beautiful decor but has a classic charm.

This is a fantastic little burger joint right along the main road in historic Tehachapi. It is a unique mom and pop place that has mementos on the walls, people are familiar and friendly to one another, and has amazing burgers! The Avocado Bacon Burger, what I had, was delicious! My husband strongly recommends the Western Burger. It looked tasty.
It was nice to see a broad selection of burgers and sides. I may have to try the veggie burger next time. I know my kids are going to love this place! -

Last time I was here was in 2003, when I moved to Tehachapi. I remember thinking the place looks old and dirty and the food wasn't good. So I have never gone back. Today my friends wanted to go because they like the place and have been going for years. So I decided I would give it another go. Walking in today I felt the same way I did all those years ago. I figured I would be a champ and give it another go. I ordered a pastrami burger and was told they put 2$ worth of pastrami on it and it was good. Didn't have to wait long for the food. Well I opened the burger and it made me laugh, there was hardly any pastrami on the burger and as my friend looked at it she said, "it looks like bacon". There was barely any meat on top of the paper thin hamburger. I wasn't going to say anything but decided I would ask if this is the normal portion. The lady was very nice and I heard her go back to the cook and ask for more pastrami. About 5 min later it was done and it doesn't look like they put much more on it. I love pastrami burgers, I always order it to compare. The burger was not good. The patty was dry, I wrapped it up and brought it home to my husband who will eat anything. I asked him what he thought and he said, "it's just a crappy burger". Sorry to be so blunt but that's what he said. I gave it two stars instead of one because the ice is shaved (which I like), and the lady at the front is nice. I will not be going back again.
